About

Even as a child, I felt the need to communicate with everyone. I searched for the universal language to do that. Music is that language, but it was still so difficult to communicate to everyone in the world, I felt frustrated. Then things got digital and went worldwide. The next universal language the way I see it is HTML on the WWW. This site is dedicated to the open source movement that’s the bridges the divide between these languages on the Internet. I’ll try to give credit to all the open source resources we use. Hopefully anyone, who reads this, can get up to speed on how to publish their music on the Web and enrich our world. Hopefully, you can also find some quality music in the open source spirit for your personal pleasure. Subverse2ten.com is our podcaster, and he’s damn good.

  • By definition, music should be viewed as the first programming language to be used in an open source context.
  • Opensourcemusic.com was designed to help spread the word about where to find open source music and software, on the Internet.
  • Most of our sites use Wordpress with the K2 theme, all running on a LAMP platform.
  • Explanations of this and more can be found in our blog.
  • If you know about any Wordpress plugins or extensions that we all should be hip to, feel free to make a comment and help all of us out.
  • We also make and post podcasts of the music we’ve found that we enjoy.
  • Thanks for taking the time to read this, we hope you enjoy some of the music we’re linking to.
